LASIK
What is LASIK?
LASIK is a corneal surgery that corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism using an ultraviolet excimer laser. This procedure can significantly reduce the need for glasses or contact lenses. Dr. Del Pero, working with former NASA scientists and laser physicists, performed the first LASIK treatments in the U.S.!
Am I a candidate for LASIK?
We offer personalized LASIK consultations to determine if you are a candidate. There is a $200 non-refundable consultation fee, which will be applied toward your surgery if you decide to proceed.
Cataract Surgery
What are cataracts?
Cataracts occur when the lens of the eye becomes cloudy, leading to blurred or hazy vision and glare. While age is the most common cause, certain medical conditions and medications may also contribute to cataracts.
Do you perform cataract surgery?
Yes! Dr. Del Pero specializes in cataract and lens implant surgery, aiming to enhance vision and reduce the need for glasses post-surgery. He has been recognized for his surgical precision and care, performing surgeries that improve patients' vision and quality of life. Even as a resident, Dr. Del Pero was trusted to operate on his own professor.
Glaucoma Management
What is glaucoma?
Glaucoma is a condition that damages the optic nerve, leading to peripheral vision loss, and can progress to blindness if left untreated. Often, there are no symptoms until the disease is in advanced stages.
Can you detect glaucoma?
Yes. During comprehensive eye exams, we screen all patients for glaucoma. Our team is trained to diagnose and manage glaucoma with treatments ranging from prescription eye drops to surgical interventions.
Optometry
What’s the difference between optometrists and ophthalmologists?
Ophthalmologists are medical doctors specializing in both the medical and surgical care of the eyes. They perform eye surgeries and treat complex eye conditions. Optometrists are trained to provide comprehensive medical eye care, including prescribing glasses and contact lenses.
How are your optometrists different?
At Del Pero Eye Center, our optometrists collaborate closely with Dr. Del Pero to deliver exceptional patient care. They are not only skilled in treating and managing a broad spectrum of eye conditions but also certified in glaucoma care.
